Indian Classical music is considered to be the highest form of musicality. Rather than mere entertainment, it is a track that leads us to the Lord Almighty.

Moreover, it is the music that emanates the true colors of this vast sphere of feelings. But the difference between the seeker’s feeling and a particular raaga’s feeling can only be understood and experienced by undertaking the meditative contemplative approach towards any note.

Therefore, rather than concentrating on notes that are enveloped in words, rhythm, etc, the seeker should concentrate on the cosmos of actual flowy notes that create an atmosphere.

Only then one would realize that a raga is a live entity. At this stage, the seeker would also realize that how less is his existence as a human being. Once this realization is achieved, the seeker will carefully head towards the further study.

As he further proceeds, his feelings would certainly merge with the feeling of the raaga. During this process, he would realize the essence of his eternal soul, i.e. the true knowledge and he would attain bliss!! This is the ultimate truth in any art form.

Though this journey is quite challenging but is certainly not impossible. Students or seekers who strive to experience divinity through music and aspire to take music as career.

Vedant Kulkarni(Guru)

I was introduced to music by my mother at the age of 5. She at the very early stage taught me the basic notes (the gametes) and as the time progressed she taught me through the means of mantras, shlokas, and stotras that, how a note comes into play. Later I had a strict learning in Jaipur style of musicality, and I wish to transport these learnings and this path towards bliss to my disciples. I’m here to teach the language of notes!!

Now, as a torchbearer of this venerable tradition, I stand poised to impart the wisdom of centuries to eager disciples, eager to embark on their own odyssey through the language of notes. With reverence and devotion, I shall guide them along this sacred path towards the boundless realms of musical ecstasy, where every melody becomes a prayer and every rhythm a meditation.

Relation between Music and Instruments

Instrument as a Conduit of Expression

In classical music, instruments transcend their material forms, becoming vessels for profound expression. Each instrument possesses its own unique character and tonal palette, allowing skilled musicians to weave intricate narratives through melody and harmony. Whether it’s the mournful cry of a violin or the majestic resonance of a grand piano, every note resonates with the emotional depth and technical mastery of its performer.

The Marriage of Technique and Emotion

Classical music demands both technical precision and emotional depth from its performers. Virtuosic musicians navigate complex passages with precision, infusing each note with passion and sentiment. From the delicate trill of a flute to the thunderous chords of an organ, the marriage of technique and emotion creates a timeless symphony of sound that transcends language and culture.

Tabla

Though the basic requirement of the seeker is to sing without any internal rhythm; when it comes to the performances (naatya) tabla is a vital instrument which has to suite the rhythm to the feeling of the bhaava.

Harmonium

It is a sanvadini, which can replicate the notes which is been uttered by the singer. It can go with the speed of what the singer is singing.

Violin

This is a western instrument but it can add the melodic effect to the musical expression which occur at a point in the expression of a phrase. It overall elevates the experience.

Saarangi

It is a traditional instrument which is used in the discource. It is an instrument which would create an apt expression with the appropriate emotion which is been conveyed by the singer viz. it is the only instrument which goes most closer or can as it is replicate the musicality which occur from a vocal tone.

Khayal

It is a refined Hindustani classical genre from Mughal courts, features emotive expression, improvisation, and intricate ornamentation. Rooted in poetry, it captivates with soulful melodies and intricate rhythms.

Thumri

Dadra

Bhajan

Bhajan, rooted in Indian spirituality, expresses love and devotion to the divine. Originating from Vedic hymns, it uplifts with simple melodies, repetitive phrases, and themes of righteousness, fostering a spiritual connection.
